Networking

Cabled Network

In a cabled network your cable is the foundation of your network. All the software certifications in the world will not help you in the event of poor network cabling. Any building in order to stand the test of time will need a solid foundation. The rest of the building may be built with the best quality and workmanship but because of the poor foundation the structure will have many problems. Your network could be designed with the finest hardware and software but without a solid cabling foundation eventually you will have network failures.

We run, terminate, test and certify any cabling we install using Microtest OMNIScanner2. We do not sub-contract. We use the finest patch systems, cable, and jacks available. You will not have communication failures due to our cabling. We use the proper cable for the situation.
For This type of network you will need:

   Ethernet card in each computer
   Ethernet hub
   Router to share internet access
   Cat5e Plenum cable, and ends
May also need-RJ45 Jacks, Surface Mount Wall Boxes, and Patch Cables
You may have to have holes drilled in floors or walls depending on your home or office

We design a network cable scheme to optimize your system speed and efficiency. When completed, the foundation of your network will be tested at every termination, labeled, and certified with a certification report.

PowerLine Network

A PowerLine network is an alternative to a Cat5 cabled network. This network uses your existing power lines in your home or business instead of Ethernet cable.
For this type of network you will need:

   Ethernet card in each computer
   Router to share internet access
   PowerLine Adapter for each computer
Patch cable to run from PowerLine Adapter to PC

This network has no difficulty with signals through floors or walls as some wireless networks do. When comparing costs of the cabled network and the PowerLine network-the Powerline network is more cost effective in parts used and also labor hours to setup. Powerline does have a decrease in transfer speeds compared to Cat5 when transferring across the network although you should not notice this when on the internet.

Wireless Network

A wireless network is a cable free network that uses a broadcasted signal to connect computers. This type of network is great for laptops because of the freedom of full mobility within an area.
For this type of network you will need:

Wireless network card in each computer
   Wireless Access Point Router Combo
For a wider area you may need additional Access Points

This networks range limit depends on the Access Point and environment. Walls, floors, and ceilings between computers may cause a decrease in signal strength resulting in dropped connections or lower transfer rates. Prices vary on wireless equipment from manufacturer to manufacturer.
